What is Wild Roots Nature Fest?

Wild Roots Nature Fest is an annual festival taking part during mid-June during The Great Big Green Week series of events based in and around Lancaster District.

The festival is a celebration of the natural world, and our aim is to help people to connect (or reconnect) with nature for their own benefit and to appreciate and make space for nature itself.

What's on?

We will provide updates for the 2026 festival as we get them.

Trail of Nature

The trail will return in 2026.

How can I help nature?

Follow the link below for information on volunteering, projects you can do to bring nature into your space and how to follow The Countryside Code to minimise your impact when you’re outside.

The Great Big Green Week and World Localisation Day

The festival is taking part during The Great Big Green Week, an annual event that runs in mid-June to celebrate and support the natural world. Please follow the link to find out more about other events taking place during the week.

World Localisation Day aims to ‘catalyze collective action to rebuild healthy local economies, communities and local food systems’. Held on 21st June, just after Wild Roots, this is a great opportunity to support local systems and economies.
